Troubleshooting
Fixes for the most common connection and input issues.
Connection issues
Phone can't discover the PC. Both devices must be on the same local network. Corporate networks, guest Wi-Fi, and some mesh router setups isolate clients from each other by design (a security feature called client/AP isolation), which will block discovery entirely. Connecting manually by IP address works around discovery but not isolation itself — you may need to disable AP isolation in your router settings.
Connection drops after a few minutes. Check your phone's battery optimization settings — some manufacturers aggressively suspend background network activity for apps they consider idle. Excluding Virtual Gamepad from battery optimization usually resolves this.
Input issues
Noticeable input lag. This is almost always a Wi-Fi signal quality issue rather than the app itself. Try moving closer to your router, switching to 5GHz if your router supports both bands, or reducing the number of other devices actively using the network.
Buttons feel unresponsive after resizing the layout. Restart the app after making layout changes — the touch-zone mapping is computed once per session in the current version.
