Requirements
- Android 8.0 (Oreo) or later
- The same Wi-Fi network as your PC
Installing the APK
Download the APK from the Download page and open it on your phone. Android will likely warn about installing from an unknown source — this is expected since the app isn't distributed through the Play Store.
Connecting to your PC
- Make sure the desktop companion is running on your PC first.
- Open the Virtual Gamepad app — it scans your local network automatically.
- Tap your PC's name in the discovered devices list.
- If discovery doesn't find it, enter your PC's local IP address manually under Connect manually.
Customizing the layout
Long-press any button or thumbstick in the on-screen layout to enter edit mode. You can:
- Drag elements to reposition them
- Pinch to resize thumbsticks and buttons
- Save the layout as a named profile, and switch profiles per game
Battery and performance tips
Input is sent continuously while connected, which does use more battery than idle. Lowering your screen brightness and disabling background app refresh for other apps will noticeably extend a play session.
